All staff accessing Kloud-12 must be registered as users, regardless of their role as a camera owner. There are two types of users:
1. Users Assigned to Cameras (Primary Users)
Primary Users are assigned to cameras and have full control over them, including live video/audio feed access, managing camera angles and modes, scheduling and editing recordings, and sharing access with other Kloud-12 accounts in their building.
2. Users Not Assigned to Cameras (Secondary Users)
Secondary Users are not assigned to cameras but can have cameras shared with their account. The Primary User controls their access permissions, which can include or exclude each option: live video/audio feed, managing the camera view, scheduling and editing recordings, and setting an expiration date for access. Shared users cannot add additional users to the camera.
NOTE: Kloud-12 Live is available to all camera owners only if the feature is enabled by the district, and camera owners can elect to share the option to launch Kloud-12 Live with other users on their camera as needed.
Kloud-12 user accounts for camera dashboard access must be approved by school administration and created by our Tech Team on your school's server. If you need access to Kloud-12, ask your Principal for assistance, or reach out to us at support@kloud-12.com. We're happy to coordinate with your administration to get your account squared away!
What You Will See in Your Camera Dashboard Account:
If you have a user account, you can log in to your school's Kloud-12 server at the link that is provided by our team during onboarding. For detailed instructions, refer to: Logging In to Your Kloud-12 Account.
Upon logging in, you'll see the main dashboard screen, with access to cameras as follows:
- Any camera(s) in your school building that your account has been assigned to.
- Any camera(s) in your school building that have been shared with your account by the camera's owner.
- If neither of the above applies, your dashboard will display "No Camera Access," indicating that your account is active and available to be assigned to a camera or added as a shared user to an assigned camera, but currently is not connected to a camera.
If you are supposed to be assigned to a specific room, but do not see that camera listed in your dashboard, reach out to us support@kloud-12.com. We're happy to coordinate with your administration to confirm your camera access and update your account's assignment.
If your account is assigned to a camera, you "own" that camera for the duration of your camera assignment, and have control over managing the angles of the camera view, scheduling and editing any recordings, and sharing access to your camera with other Kloud-12 accounts in your building. For more on the camera dashboard, and all the functions you will have as a camera owner, see: Intro to Navigating Your Kloud-12 Dashboard
If a camera is shared with your account by that camera's owner, your access permissions on the camera will be set by the camera owner. The camera's Primary User can select to allow access to the camera's Live View video/audio feed only - such as for a scheduled classroom observation, or also allow the ability for a shared user to manage the camera view and record and edit their own recordings on the camera - such as for a co-teacher in the same classroom. For more info on shared cameras, see: Sharing Your Kloud-12 Camera
Who Has Camera Access:
Access to the Kloud-12 system requires approval from the school administration and an account created by our Technical Team. Additionally, Kloud-12 can only be accessed on campus while connected to the school or district network. This ensures that only school or district staff can access the system and cameras. Teachers cannot share their camera with parents, students, or anyone outside of the school system.
Administrator Access:
As a teacher assigned to a camera, you will "own" that camera and manage shared access to it. However, there are two Admin account types that are granted automatic access to the Live View audio/video feed.
Administrator access is typically for:
- Tech Admin or other Tech Staff at your district for the purpose of troubleshooting network or hardware issues
- Possibly your building Principal and/or Assistant Principal, depending on your school district's policy.
- Occasionally, a school will allow Instructional Coaches to have administrator access to teachers' cameras, for ease of Professional Development work.
The camera owner will be able to see every account that has access to their camera in the Share Camera section of their dashboard. Accounts they have manually granted access to their camera are listed in the "Shares" section, as well as the camera permissions and expiration date of each access. Admin accounts will be listed below camera shares. Admin camera access is limited to Live View only unless the camera owner then shares the camera with additional permissions.
